About Junction

Junqtion is a virtual community space made by and forTLGBQIA2S workers, with a focus on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, in the trades and other blue-collar (cis)male dominated labor fields. Through an all-volunteer structure founded on transformative justice and abolitionist frameworks Junqtion offers community groups, educational spaces, networking events, micro-grants, and more to help TLGBQIA2S workers not just survive but thrive in these workplaces.

Community

Build community with other TLGBQIA2S workers in one of our many groups. Groups can be for support, discussion, networking, etc., Groups like: Trans in the trades, Black and African American Workers, Single Parents, Recipe Swap, East Coat Electricians, and more. Don’t see a group you want? Start one.

---

Education

Regular educational events to support you inside and outside of work. Future educational meetings and workshops include: How to get into the trades, What to do if you’re being harassed, Financial planning, Know your Worker Rights, and more.

---

Celebrate

We don’t celebrate enough so join us for regular events that celebrate our lives and work experiences. Events include Open Mic Nights, Storytelling, and an art gallery! Be part of our first gallery show “These Boots were Made for Working” and send us a photo of your work boots.

---

Tell Your Story

Tell your story, listen to other’s stories. A common belief is that there are ‘no gay people’ working on male-dominate blue-collar spaces but the truth is it’s dangerous to be out. Help us collect our rich history!
